Sorry to say that Twilight star Robert Pattinson didn’t dish about his recent break-up with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart when he appeared on The Daily Show Monday night.

Host Jon Stewart tried to get him to spill some details by plying him with Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, but it was a non-starter.

“We’re just a coupla gals talking,” Stewart says.

Pattinson, in good English fashion, avoids the conversation as much as possible, but owns up that the biggest problem in his life is that he’s cheap.

“I didn’t hire a publicist,” he laughs.

Pattinson, with Stewart’s help, goes on to explain that a publicist would have helped him prepare for all of the awkward interviews he’s had lately, priming the talk show host with questions to ask and giving the actor answers to provide.

In the end, Stewart says he’d hoped Pattinson and he could bond of a pint of Ben & Jerry’s – and that his personal life would remain personal.

“And you’re better off,” Stewart says in a teenage girl’s voice. “Kick her to the curb.”
