Call Me Mavy!

What song is every young girl in America (and probably a few other countries) listening to that gets irreversibly stuck in your head only to loop over and over again for eternity? — That would be “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen. I feel like I’m 10 again bopping around the house with the simplistic tune relentlessly stuck on repeat in my brain. And if I am ever lucky enough to get some other song to play, it’s only a matter of minutes before we hear “Call Me Maybe” playing in a store or on the kids’ station we listen to.

Well, at least now there’s another version to rotate in. This spoof brought to you by the upcoming film Hotel Transylvania presents “Call Me Mavy,” based on the character of Mavis, who is celebrating her 118th birthday in the movie. Happy birthday, Mavis! Check out the cute new version of the song, and bonus, it’s a little kid-friendly video.

My kids are very excited about this movie, both because it looks like a hilarious and fun-filled monster extravaganza, and because Selena Gomez voices Mavis. In the photo above, Mavis argues with her well-meaning father Dracula (voice of Adam Sandler).
