Michael Jordan Finally Does Something Right in Charlotte

Make no mistake about it, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball play to ever step foot onto the hardwood — or at least that’s my opinion. But with the Charlotte Bobcats, he has proven to be an oblivious owner.

He has run a team that has …

Will Metta World Peace Help Knicks Beat the Heat?

When Metta World Peace went on a little crazy last week and swore off the NBA in favor of China or Arena Football, I figured he was just joking around. Turns out I was right! On Monday, the New York Knicks signed the veteran forward to a two-y…

Andrew Bynum

Andrew Bynum Joins Cleveland Cavaliers

Andrew BynumApparently the Cleveland Cavaliers weren’t listening when I strongly urged NBA teams not to sign Andrew Bynum. According to ESPN, the two sides have agreed to a two-year deal.

Signing Bynum is one thing, but giving him a contract with guaranteed money would be insane, right? Especially considering the center missed the entire 2012-13 season with the Philadelphia 76ers due to bad knees. Oh, and it looks like I forgot to mention the fact that he was unwilling to work out for interested teams prior to signing a contract.

If ESPN is correct — and they usually are – the Cavaliers gave the 25-year-old a contract worth $24 million including $6 million guaranteed.

I know I’m not an NBA owner for a reason and I have no idea what it’s like to have multi-millions, but that seems like a dumb investment.

If I knew for a fact that Bynum’s knees were 100 percent healthy, I’d say he’s worth every penny of that deal.  Unfortunately, his bad knees and his passionless demeanor are not something I would be taking a risky investment in.

At least the Cavaliers weren’t dumb enough to give him a long-term contract worth max dollars. The length of the contract seems about right. Sadly, if Bynum ends up playing well for the Cavaliers, they will have a hard time convincing him to stay with the team after those two years are up.

What do you think about the Cavaliers signing Bynum?
