Tottenham’s Harry Kane has topped the Sky Sports Power Rankings for a third week running.
Kane opened the scoring against Liverpool with a cool finish from Kieran Trippier’s (No 5, up five places) chipped pass and netted another in the 56th minute during Spurs’ 4-1 win at Wembley on Sunday.
Manchester City trio Kevin De Bruyne (No 3, down two places), Leroy Sane (No 2, up three places) and Nicolas Otamendi (No 8, up 30 places) made the top 10, with the latter pair getting on the scoresheet in a 3-0 win over Burnley.
Everton’s Wayne Rooney (No 31, up 131 places) opened the scoring against Arsenal at Goodison Park with a long-range strike, reminiscent of his first goal for Everton against the Gunners 15 years ago.
However, Arsenal equalised through Nacho Monreal (No 4, up 10 places) before the break and Mesut Ozil (no 38, up 231 places) made it 2-1 early in the second half, before Idrissa Gueye was dismissed and Arsenal capitalised to win 5-2 – sealed by a solo Alexis Sanchez (No 7, up 47 places) effort.
Elsewhere, Stoke’s Mame Biram Diouf hit his third goal in as many games during a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth and Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure struck his fourth of the season at Chelsea.
Kane, Pedro (No 18, up 146 places) and Ozil collected the most points from matchday nine, while substitute Michy Batshuayi soared 397 places up the table to No 56 after nodding Chelsea ahead at Stamford Bridge.
The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player’s performance over the last five matchdays by awarding points to players for 32 different stats.
