Wine of the Week: Apothic White 2011 (CA) $14

The 2011 Apothic White wine showcases the piercing aromas of vivid fruit, with honeyed peach, tropical mango and ripe pineapple all well surrounded by the citrus tones of tangerine. A very engaging blend of three dominate white wine varietals, Chardonnay, Riesling and Moscato, work together to create a slightly sweet synergy of stunning aromas, dynamic fruit and fine balance.

The medium-bodied palate profile steers towards end of summer fruit with fleshy peach and juicy apricot stealing the show, a nice show of acidity works its magic to stabilize the sweeter nuances of this easy-going wine and the finish is clean with subtle illusions of an iced vanilla latte playing the palate.

For fans of the Apothic Red, this well-priced white is sure to garner as many friends as the consumer acclaimed red label.  Give Apothic White a go with the likes of fresh seafood, favorite Thai dishes, a healthy helping of sweet and sour pork or enjoy simply as a refreshing apéritif.
