Bentelimar will make his debut for Charlie Longsdon in the BetVictor Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday.
A consistent performer for Shay Barry in Ireland, he has only recently moved to Longsdon’s Chipping Norton yard in the Cotswolds.
While Longsdon admits he is still learning about his new charge, he feels Bentelimar is overpriced at around the 33-1 mark.
“He has got a great profile and has run some very good races in Ireland in big handicaps,” said Longsdon.
“The ground was probably too soft at Listowel last time. Slightly better ground and a slight drop back in trip will help.
“He is way too big a price for what he has done as he has got some seriously good form.”
