England begin their Ashes campaign in Brisbane in under two weeks – but who should be in their Gabba XI?
Joe Root’s squad have been hit by injury issues since landing in Australia, with Steve Finn’s knee problem forcing him to fly home and Jake Ball sustaining ankle ligament damage.
England are already depleted, of course, by the absence of Ben Stokes – the all-rounder remains out of contention while the police investigation into his arrest in September continues.
So, with no Stokes, how should England balance their XI at The Gabba from November 23? Who should bat at No 5? Who should take the final seam spot? Should spinner Mason Crane play alongside Moeen Ali?
