Harry Kane will miss Tottenham’s Sky Live clash away to Manchester United on Saturday after failing to recover from a hamstring injury, Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed.

The England striker underwent an assessment earlier this week on the injury which he suffered during Spurs’ 4-1 Premier League win over Liverpool last Sunday and it was confirmed he has a minor strain to his left hamstring.

When asked about Kane’s availability, the Spurs boss told reporters: “No, for tomorrow we cannot take a risk. It’s a minor injury, very small, but we cannot take a risk for tomorrow.

“We will see after for Wednesday and Real Madrid, but for tomorrow, it’s impossible.

“Always you want all players available, but it is a problem. Play more or play less? Because it is most important that they are all available and fit.”

Kane’s absence is a blow for Spurs as he had been in outstanding form for club and country, with 17 goals in his last 16 appearances.

Spaniard Fernando Llorente, who started during Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Real at the Bernabeu last week, is likely to be asked to lead the line at Old Trafford.
