A sexual encounter at 30,000 feet landed two Delta passengers into trouble: the pair is facing criminal charges as their case falls into the jurisdiction of federal US investigators.
An unidentified man, 28, and a woman, 48, on a Delta flight from Los Angeles to Detroit were caught engaging in a sexual act Sunday night, local channel WDIV-TV reported. The female passenger was arrested for giving the man oral sex as they sat next to each other.
According to officials, the two only met on board the aircraft and were traveling to Detroit to catch different connecting flights. Upon their landing in the airport, the pair were met by police and given citations. The investigation was handed over to the FBI, and now the two passengers may be charged with a misdemeanor or even a felony.
Other travelers condemned the couple’s very public display of intimate behavior, calling it “inappropriate” and “disrespectful” towards the rest of the passengers and flight crew. “There are children,” one of the witnesses told the TV station. “There are families. There are seniors. These things should be respected.”
