As the revolutionary 3D printing technology continues its march into more and more areas of our lives, Russia has become the first country in Europe to use a 3D printer to construct a real residential house.

The first 3D-printed building in Europe, which is expected to house an ordinary Russian family, was presented in Yaroslavl, Russia, on October 24, 2017.

The project was implemented by a group of companies, namely “AMT-SPECAVIA.” It took the specialists two years to print the parts of the house and then assemble them into a comprehensive 298.5-square-meter building.

“It was important for us to set a precedent — to show in practice that 3D construction technology is working,” said Alexander Maslov, general director of the “AMT-SPECAVIA” Group.

At the beginning it seemed to be “something from the realm of fantasy,” but “we set the task to make it real” and “managed to make a fairy tale come true,” Maslov concluded.
